چکیده
A penetration process in electroslag welding is simulated using a two-dimensional smoothed particle hydrodynamics method to elucidate the heat transfer mechanism. The base metals are melted and forms orthogonal direction of weld line. From metal, molten metal flows downward, then pool below slag bath. distributions temperature increasing rates due conduction Joule heating also visualized clarify dominant factors contributing increases metal. occurs mainly at side bottom wire increased by from high slag. energy system evaluated quantitatively as well. Most input electric converted into thermal Approximately 80% generated transported while other 20% pool. Compared with gas arc welding, energies larger smaller than those welding.

Numerical study of heat transfer in fluidized bed dryers by volume of fluid method
The purpose of this study is numerical modeling of temperature variation of phases in a two phase regime in fluidized bed dryers including particles belonging to Group D of geldart classification. The mass transfer between phases is not taken into consideration in this modeling which has been assumed in three- dimensional, unsteady, and two-phase regime. To verify the modeling we consider the do...
متن کاملNumerical and experimental study of the heat transfer process in friction stir welding
A mathematical model to describe the detailed three-dimensional transient heat transfer process in friction stir welding (FSW) is presented. This work is both theoretical and experimental. An explicit central diVerential scheme is used in solving the control equations, the heat transfer phenomena during the tool penetrating, the welding and the tool-removing periods that are studied dynamically...
متن کاملEvaluation of Eulerian Two-Fluid Numerical Method for the Simulation of Heat Transfer in Fluidized Beds
Accurate modeling of fluidization and heat transfer phenomena in gas-solid fluidized beds is not solely dependent on the particular selected numerical model and involved algorithms. In fact, choosing the right model for each specific operating condition, the correct implementation of each model, and the right choice of parameters and boundary conditions, determine the accuracy of the results i...
متن کاملNumerical modelling of shielding gas flow and heat transfer in laser welding process
In the present work a three-dimensional model has been developed to study shielding gas flow and heat transfer in a laser welding process using computational fluid dynamics. This investigation was motivated by problems met while using an optical system to track the weld path. The aim of this study was to investigate if the shielding gas flow could disturb the observation area of the optical sys...
متن کاملResistance Spot Welding: A Heat Transfer Study
A heat transfer study of resistance spot welding has been conducted both theoretically and experimentally. A numerical solution based on a finite difference formulation of the heat equation has been developed to predict temperature distributions as a function of both time and position during the welding process. The computer model also predicts the temperature distribution through the copper el...
